There have been many different ways this semester has helped prepare me to take the next step on my journey. First and foremost, Sophomore Block was a wonderful experience that helped to prove that I am on the right path. Getting to be in a classroom every single day for a month was so beneficial and provided me with so much insight into how a classroom runs. I learned how to teach certain concepts, how to help kids work through difficult emotions, how to write report cards, how to conduct parent teacher conferences, and so much more. This experience will help guide me in my future fieldwork experience, as well as my future teaching career. This semester also provided me with four classes that covered an array of topics, all of which helped to better understand and support students. These classes went beyond general education, covering specific fields and domains. These specialized classes will help guide me in the future, as they provided me with concrete information on how to support all students that will walk into my classroom one day. The combination of specialized learning and fieldwork experience came together this semester to help me better understand what my future will look like and prove that I am making the correct decision for myself.
